About the Position: This position is with the US Army Legal Services Agency - Commander Chief Judge- Clerk of the Court, located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Duties
Interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and/or guidance on how to access, manage, store, and/or archive Government records.
Maintain the life cycle of courts-martial records, which includes organizing, updating, storing, archiving, retrieving, and using these records.
Monitor or evaluate work related to the execution of the Clerk of Court Records.
Aid in preparation of annual Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act (FOIA/PA) reports for higher headquarters.
Manage disposition of records of trial, official mail and distribution, correspondence, forms, special records, FOIA/PA, electronic filing of pleadings, and publication of decisions and related filings
Provide guidance to management and staff on the creation, maintenance, and/or use of court-martial records, electronic filings, and/or email systems.
Determine the release of records under FOIA/PA laws and regulations.
Perform a variety of administrative duties in an office; such as file court documents such as briefs, motions, court orders and /or reviews all incoming mail and/or correspondence and routing to appropriate action officer.
Assist to develop plans and/or procedures for implementing records management policies and/or regulations.
Processes a variety of requests for information and/or records.
Conducts periodic records management quality control reviews and compliance audits for general program improvement purposes.
Collects and delivers records of trial and other mail to and from the agency mail room.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Assists maintaining legal case files/records such as updating, storage and retrieval using these legal records OR Assists processing legal requests for information and records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
