Duties
Incumbent serves as the subject matter expert in this complex and constantly evolving practice area of military administrative law
Incumbent will independently conduct legal research pertaining to each area as well as prepare briefings and presentations.
Incumbent will prepare legal memoranda in support of each area of law
Incumbent will provide legal advice and services in the area of military personnel law and military-related law on a wide range of subjects.

Qualifications
Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, be a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State of the United States or a Territory of the United States, and have legal experience in excess of 5 years commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of this position.
DUTIES CONTINUE
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Incumbent will provide case assessment, legal memorandum, legal advice, legal briefings, and presentations concerning military matters.
Incumbent independently conducts legal research pertaining to all areas of military administrative law and associated practice areas; provides written legal analysis, case assessment, legal advice, and recommendations to the command and subordinate commands and to the Fleet as necessary; prepares legal memoranda in support of each area.
Incumbent will provide legal advice to the command and subordinate activities concerning interpretation and application of military law and policy regarding promotions, advancements, administrative separations, detailing, uniformed personnel entitlements and benefits, retirements, separation pay, casualty affairs, traumatic injury payments from TSGLI, ethics, military justice and Board of Correction of Naval Record petitions and other related military legal matters as assigned

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Education
Must have a J.D. Degree from an ABA accredited law school, be a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State of the United States or a Territory of the United States, and have a minimum of five (5) years post-law school legal experience as either a military judge advocate or in private practice providing representation to members in the major areas of responsibility.
