This position will be located at the New Mexico VA Healthcare System, within the Ambulatory Care Department. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the ACOS of the Ambulatory Care. This individual is responsible for maintaining the (PCMM) Primary Care Management Module database for all of Primary Care throughout the hospital service area.

Duties

The incumbent is the Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) Coordinator for the Primary Care Teams within the Primary Care Service. The PCMM Coordinator will work closely with Business and Nurse Managers, Team Leaders and Providers to help with training, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all administrative procedures related to PCMM operations; serving as a PCMM resource person. Duties include, but are not limited to: Act to ensure the maximum efficiency of the Primary Care clinic operations through creative and appropriate utilization of resources, support to and involvement in, optimal management information system data gathering, analysis, validation and presentation. Act as a resource to clinical staff in troubleshooting of VISTA and PCMM software applications associated with the Primary Care Clinic treatment area. Ensure all duties are completed regarding PCMM implementation and utilization. Perform work in direct support of an administrative area such as: management analysis or operating program analysis for the Primary Care Management Module package. Provide assistant or technical level support from within the Primary Care Service or a comparable setting. Maintain full responsibility for PCMM in the Primary Care setting. Oversight of all PCMM activities and is able to make judgments without direct supervision on panel changes, provider assignments and assist patients with issues staying within established guidelines. Enter Primary Care team information into PCMM system, assign patients into the Primary Care teams, assign patients to appropriate provider within PCMM systems. Perform work supporting the study of organizations, including work related to surveys conducted to assess organizational performance for the Primary Care Service, Primary Care teams and the PCMM. Perform assistant work in support of the care and treatment given to patients of a medical facility such as receiving patients, maintaining patient's visits and data in the PCMM and various software packages and the provision of quality and timely service in Primary Care. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m. Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/05/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. For the GS-9 grade level you may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: (In addition to meeting Time in Grade) You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: (1) Knowledge of directives and regulations; (2) Knowledge of contracting regulations; (3) Preparing reports and briefings; (4) Equipment Management; (5) Fund control point management; (6) Lease management; (7) Plans and conducts special projects or studies; (8) Quality of Services measuring/management; (9) Review of information and the ability to apply standard analytical techniques (must be able to demonstrate this experience in resume) OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the next lower grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for the position at the grade GS-9. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for this grade level. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work involves sitting primarily; working on a computer preparing reports and data entry, walking, some standing and light lifting.
