Duties
Working as an Information Technology Specialist (Systems Administration) in the Office of Information Systems Management, Platform Services Office you will:
Provide video endpoint and video conferencing infrastructure support.
Maintain and troubleshoot video conferencing hardware, software, and collaboration technologies.
Integrate Microsoft Teams with Teams-certified hardware such as Poly, Logitech, and Cisco are the primary technologies supported by the position at this time. Other video meeting platforms supported include BlueJeans, Google Meet, Webex, and Zoom.
Evaluate new hardware and software collaboration features that support real-time video conferencing. This includes whiteboarding, real-time presenter tracking, and advanced meeting room layouts.
Develop recommendations to support hybrid video meetings that include participants from multiple physical and virtual locations.
Diagnose and triage hardware, software, and network deficiencies reported by video meeting participants.
Establish testing and monitoring standards for evaluating poor video meeting experiences.
Collaborate with other information technology support groups to provide on-site evaluation of video meeting performance.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Specialized Experience
In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalents to at least the GS-9 level (ZP-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience:
Providing onsite and real-time support of video meetings, including support of video meeting hardware and collaboration software.
Diagnosing and triage hardware, software, and network deficiencies reported by video meeting participants.
Contrasting features supported by different video meeting platforms and their available configuration options, such as configuring Microsoft Teams meetings for internal and external participation.
Troubleshooting audio and video connection problems, such as audio feedback and no video output to a display.
Video meeting hardware and their infrastructure configurating, such as the Poly Studio X series of video endpoints.
Integrating new video hardware with existing hardware.
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
