This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number 07- D2407000 / 09- D2401000 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard.

Duties
As a Base Services Manager, GS-0301-07, you will assist in analyzing statistical and narrative data in order to improve efficiency of the administrative processes in the organization. Ensure that priority actions are properly staffed and executed throughout the organization. Establish and maintain Commander schedules, operating files, time reporting, leave, system access and records. Purchase supplies and initiates purchase requests for the Group. Perform other duties as assigned.
As a Base Services Manager, GS-0301-09, you will plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS). Plan, organize and execute all Group information management and personnel activities. Manage training programs for administration (3A1X1) and personnel (3S0X1) in accordance with established command guidelines. Serve as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions. Prepare and deliver presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters and convey information. Participate in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating, and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program goals. Develop CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies and required services. Exercise limited supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 - Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience interpreting regulations, policies or law and providing guidance.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Education
If you are using Education to qualify for this position, completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for two months of specialized experience.
