This position serves as a Curriculum Specialist for the Military-Civilian Transition Office (MCTO) covering both the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP).

Duties

As a Curriculum Specialist at the GS-1701-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Manages functional courses as assigned, manages, assigns, and oversees curriculum development tasks delegated to civilian and military course authors, lesson authors, or editor essential to the operation of the TAP and YRRP missions, curricula development / implementation, impacting transition and reintegration operations throughout the Department of Defense (DoD). Ensures evolving changes in TAP and YRRP are incorporated into the curriculum and synchronous with MCTO mission and objectives. Participates as a key leader in DoD curriculum activities and initiatives in cooperation with other DoD and partner agencies . Leads interagency teams and oversees participation in initiatives with DoD Component offices, inter-agencies, and contractors, as required. Establishes guidelines and policy for measuring achievement of instructional objectives. Coordinates the design, development, assessment and revision of all TAP and YRRP curriculum to include being a key subject matter expert in the interagency curriculum development, including curriculum from VA, DOL, SBA, and OPM.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Developing, implementing, and delivery of in-person and virtual curriculum; Developing online curses using online curriculum development tools (i.e., Articulate 360); Determining and implementing guidelines for curriculum development, and instructional programs; Ensuring technical accuracy and consistency of final products through written and oral communications with emphasis on ability to prepare, articulate, and present views and findings. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1701 series. Basic Requirements: Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. *NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
