This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Office of Opportunity and Inclusiveness (O&I). As an Executive Assistant provide administrative support to the Managing Director and other EEO office personnel.
Duties
As an Executive Assistant, AC-0303-3your typical work assignments may include the following:
Prepare, review and distribute documents, correspondence, form letters and other written materials at the direction of the Managing Director.
Schedule and arrange meetings and conference calls, maintain the Managing Director's calendar, prioritize MD e-mails phone calls, and document review.
Serve as a point of contact for general inquires, request and questions for Managing Director or about O&I.
Develop and implement internal procedures and guidelines for handling files, templates, and other items that will increase efficiency and effectiveness, and take the lead in collaborating with others within and outside the organization to implement new and innovative administrative support initiatives.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the Executive Assistant, AC-III Band Level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
Specialized Experience: The AC-II position require one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band/grade AC-II or GS-9 level (or equivalent) in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as creating detailed records of meetings and interviews and scheduling, arranging meetings and conferences and maintaining managing Director's calendar. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
