The employee of this position performs duties of Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter. This position requires knowledge in all phases of carpentry, electrical and maintenance. Employee may be required to work flexible or rotating shifts. The employee will be required to test critical systems in accordance with Engineering and VANCHCS policies. Through general work orders and written and oral instruction, the employee will perform necessary repairs.
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains all locking devices which include security units; monitors; alarms; timing mechanisms; sensors and other equipment within security or surveillance systems.
Installs distribution panels, boxes, fittings, connections, wiring, couplings, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers and other electrical devices.
Troubleshoots interrelating mechanism lockouts in security systems caused by defective parts.
assists in maintaining interior and exterior building operations and appearance by measuring, constructing, installing, modifying, repairing framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, rough furniture, trims, staircases, trusses and beams
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing and crawling are required. Work may be performed in cramped or awkward position. Employee will lift objects weighing 20-50 pounds and upon occasion, in excess of 50 pounds.
