Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
W&I Service Ccenter - Submission Processing - Kansas City, Data Conversion Operation.
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Monitors work in progress in order to detect unusual production delays, problems caused by unforeseen contentions, needs to adjust priorities in order to move small jobs past large jobs that are awaiting completion of other processing, and work with operations personnel to detect and resolve common or unusual operating problems or failures.
Attends meetings and conferences on system integration and problem solving and maintains liaison with functional and technical personnel using existing system.
Receives and responds to requests for assistance from ISRP, RPS, SCRIPS, or ELF users concerning problems with the terminals and/or system.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-8 Level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, applications and utility programs, to assist in identifying problems; Experience with a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify required actions and implement decisions; Experience with the following IRS applications: IDRS, OL5081, ISRP, RPS, ELF and SCRIPS; Experience with the use of the following COTS software: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Adobe Acrobat; Experience with data entry, invoice reconciliation, and customer/vendor contacts; Experience in a team environment; Experience in development of user guides, training aids and delivery of training to system users.
OR
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-9 Level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-8 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with the features, characteristics and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, applications and utility programs; Experience with a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods and procedures to identify required actions and implement decisions; Experience analyzing data to identify problems encountered on computer systems; Experience with the following IRS applications: IDRS, OL5081, ISRP, RPS, ELF and SCRIPS; Experience with the following COTS software: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Adobe Acrobat; Experience in security review processing as a security administrator; Experience with data entry, invoice reconciliation, spreadsheet analysis and customer/vendor contacts; Experience in development of user guides, training aids and delivery of training to system users.
AND
MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT: You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. Advancement to positions up to GS-05 is permitted if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade held within the preceding 52 weeks.
AND
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
