About the Position: Position is located at Headquarters, US Southern Command, Manpower and Personnel Directorate, Civilian Personnel Division, Miami, Florida providing Civilian Human Resource Compensation Advisory to the Command.
Duties
Provide management advisory assistance, problem resolution, and expert technical guidance in personnel compensation to managers and staff of the HQ US SOUTHCOM.
Serves as SME for payroll, allowances, and entitlements.
Implements and provides policy guidance on pay management issues including overtime pay provisions, FLPP, supervisory differential, grade and pay retention, FLSA, extra-duty compensation, and hazard pay determinations/programs.
Provides pertinent information and guidance on all matters pertaining to PCS orders to include review of entitlements, initial orders, and subsequent revisions/modifications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in Civilian Human Resources (CHR) sufficient to develop CHR policy, manage CHR programs, provide comprehensive CHR advisory services to managers and staff on the use of the Federal compensation flexibilities required to recruit, manage, and retain critical employees; experience developing and providing policy guidance on a wide range of compensation programs and analyzing compensation legislation and regulations for impact on HR policies and programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
