About the Position: This position is located in Fort Moore, Georgia with the Armed Service Blood Program. This position is not remote, but telework may be an option. You would still be required to report to the office.
A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties
The incumbent’s work affects the ASBP mission, and impacts all military and civilian blood collection requirements for all DOD military Blood Centers.
Work is performed as a specialist in blood donor recruitment for the ASBP, Service Blood Program Director and Blood Donor Center (BDC).
Assists in blood drives as necessary and as requested by the BDC OIC/leadership.
The position contributes to the environment for patients, staff, and individuals served by or providing services within the ASBP.
This position supports the mission of the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP), with duty stations at an ASBP blood collection facility in CONUS or OCONUS and is located in various locations.
Duties are performed both in the office and on the road.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning comprehensive public affairs campaigns in order to enhance blood donor recruitment; developing relationships with community services in order to ensure maximum efforts are made to recruit blood donors; writing/editing speeches, memos and publications; distribute approved information to public. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Affairs or Communications. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application package.)
