This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Atlantic Area, Fifth District, Sector Delaware Bay, Intelligence Staff, in Philadelphia, PA.

Duties

The position serves as an Intelligence Operations specialist for the Sector Delaware Bay Intelligence Staff. The responsibilities include collecting, reviewing, evaluating, interpreting, and performing first order analysis of law enforcement intelligence on all maritime threats in and around the ports and coastal waterways, producing intelligence reports, and disseminating tactical and operational intelligence to the port level operational commander, Sector Delaware Bay Intelligence Staff, Coast Guard Maritime Intelligence Fusion Centers, Intelligence Coordination Center, and other Intelligence and Law Enforcement agencies.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Requirements

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to undergo random drug testing.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of Specialized experience include: Planning, organizing, and performing research and analysis of complex major issues within the assigned specialty area; defining the scope and objective of research in cooperation with the supervisor; devising solutions to problems; identifying gaps in existing data and requests research or reports necessary to strengthen intelligence. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
