This position is in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A), Field Intelligence Directorate (FID).
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Intelligence Operations Specialist and support fusion centers, state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners (SLTTP), DHS Components, and the Intelligence Community. The incumbent is responsible for engagement in support of I&A collection and reporting, analytical and dissemination functions at that geographic area to provide national-level intelligence cycle support. The Intelligence Officer serves as I&A's official representative in that geographic area for information and intelligence sharing with Federal, SLTTP partners, other DHS Components, and other members of the Intelligence Community (IC). The assignment involves problem definition and resolution, planning and coordination with numerous Federal (including DHS components) and SLTTP partners. The incumbent executes a wide range of relationship building and intelligence and information sharing, and support, analysis, and collection and reporting related to, and in support of, homeland security.
As an Intelligence Officer, the incumbent is recognized as the DHS I&A Representative to that State, Major Urban Area, or other locale.

Requirements
- Must be able to hold a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
- Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
- Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
You must have one year of specialized experience that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as supporting ongoing or emerging substantive intelligence collection and dissemination activities in any established homeland security intelligence related specialty area. Such experience may include conducting a variety of complex assignments within his/her area of responsibility and conducting and directing in-depth research and analysis in support of homeland security. Additionally, such experience could be gained from:
Working with state and local partners to create communities of interest and support information-sharing to ensure national and homeland security information is shared bi-directionally with the Intelligence Community.
