THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2326000/D2324000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Duties

On a day-to-day basis, analyzes performance, tests, inspects, troubleshoots, identifies and isolates malfunctions, disassembles, modifies or repairs and reassembles test stations or ECM Pods and their associated peripherals. May modify and updates avionics Pods, support equipment and support software according to applicable technical publications. Connects associated testing equipment to interface the test station system to the aircraft system and or Pod to facilitate maintenance/repair of POD or line replaceable units (LRUs) from the avionics systems such as radar, fire control, etc. Works with engineers and technicians in the development and/or modification of software, interfaces, extender equipment or additional items of test equipment and in validation of technical data. Provides hands-on training instructions to lower grade personnel concerned with repair of computer controlled automatic test equipment, manually controlled test equipment, line replaceable units and aircraft integrated systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This a Career Ladder position for a WG-12/13. This advertisement is written for the WG-13 level. Your qualifications for the WG-12 and/or WG-13 will be determined by your resume and questionnaire responses. If you are hired at the WG-12 level, you will be required to remain at the WG-12 level for MINIMUM of 12 months, before you become ELIGIBLE to be non-competitively promoted to WG-13. Military Grades: E4 through E5 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A071, 2A27X, 2A374, 2A375, 2A871, 2A872, 2A97X The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Skilled in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats. Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material. Skilled in training, mentoring, leading and problem solving. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months of specialized working experience in inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment, and associated subsystems. Knowledge of stations that are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable and pods. Skilled in analyzing performance results, running tests, inspecting, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions. Experienced in how to disassemble, modify or repair and reassemble test stations or electronic circuit maintenance pods and their associated peripherals. Skilled in planning tasks for subordinate workers and expanded knowledge in using the equipment, facilities and materials. Skilled in meeting deadlines, in using time management to satisfy priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Experiences included redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and training. Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed at least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented. Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
