Employee will serve as a Management Assistant aligned within Medicine Service located at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System in San Antonio, TX.
Duties

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Provides day-to-day support to include clerical duties such as meeting minutes, mailings, faxing, reception, upkeep of administrative continuity books, memorandums, service line agreements, and service policies.
Preparations of clinic activations, changes, and deactivations, and routing of clinic cancellation forms.
Schedules non-patient appointments, drafting memos, creating reports associated with assigned projects and programs.
Performs timekeeping, purchasing, and Equipment Management, Assistant Automated Data Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) processes.
Performs clinical and research data collection, compilation, and tracking of data and statistical information in support of program operations involving direct patient care, disease management, equipment oversight, and workforce management.
Generates reports and monitors dashboards that pertain to but are not limited to the Clinical Utilization Statistical Summary (CUSS) report, Open Encounters, Consults, Missed Opportunities, Decision Support System (DSS) Mapping, WebHR, the Electronic Inventory List, etc.
Verifies and corrects discrepancies with human resources and fiscal personnel memos and other documentation. Submits human resources actions.
Assists Medicine Service and leadership in the credentialing processes to include routing and uploading the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE)/Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) documents, assisting with the clinical chart review process, and submission and routing specific documentation in order to complete privileging and re-privileging packets.
Tracks all credentialing, background investigations, and human resources actions including timekeeping, tour of duty and fee basis memos, staff in-processing/out-processing, and the annual appraisal process.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes scheduling non-patient appointments and maintaining meeting minutes, purchasing, timekeeping, and equipment management to support the day-to-day functions of a medical facility; performing clinical data collection, compilation, and analysis of data in support of program operations; and completing and submitting human resources actions.
