Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is seeking highly qualified and motivated General Engineers (009839111M)to fill multiple vacancies in the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.
DUTIES:
Build and participate in project teams; perform research and analysis to incorporate architectures, standards, and strategies for effective, agile, and seamless integration of NC3 capabilities across the enterprise
Develop system performance requirements, objectives, and integration plans and estimate the time and resources needed for system design, development, testing and support.
Evaluate alternative design approaches and proposals, define major/critical problems, and collaborate to determine solutions to complex problems
Prepare and present briefings, reports, action plans, etc., to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
Integrate efforts with extended and geographically dispersed stakeholders which may include subject matter experts from across the AFNWC, other Air Force and Space Force organizations, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), U.S. Navy organizations, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), University Affiliated Research Center (UARCs), and other stakeholder representatives to ensure nuclear C3 enterprise activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed
Brief and engage senior leadership via delivery of presentations on program status, accomplishments, problems/analysis/solutions, requirements for support and/or promotion of program objectives
Facilitate rapid technology insertion and CONOP refinement through experimentation by working with external stakeholders, other PEOs, industry, and the warfighter to shape system modernization and program execution
SKILLS:
Strong background in systems engineering, integration, and test of complex communications systems and large scale system of systems with a diverse set of stakeholders across organizational boundaries highly desired
Experience in applying systems engineering principles to NC3 systems to include radios, radio frequency (RF) networks, or other communications system
Ability to evaluate insertion of new technology for design efficiency, cost reasonableness, and developmental risks
Ability to organize work, set priorities; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress and evaluate outcomes
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing

- The selected candidate will be the subject of a security background investigation and the work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance (TS/SCI).

- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations.
- Senior Developmental Education and Technical Master’s Degree is highly desired.
- Electrical, Electronics/RF/Communications, Computer, Software and Systems Engineering degrees desired.
- Incumbent performs other engineering related duties as assigned.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- This position is designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- The selected candidate will be required to take Government provided training and obtain APDP practitioner level certification in Engineering and Technical Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
2. Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
3. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems.
4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs.
5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes; and to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, form conclusions, and devise and recommend solutions to problems.
