About the Position: This position is with the 807th Medical Deployment Support Command (MDSC), Security/ Plans, 807 Mission Support Element, Main Command Post, located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Duties

Assess the operational readiness status of the command. Implement programs to correct training related deficiencies noted through inspections, exercises, or analysis of reports. Conduct staff visits to evaluate the command’s operational plans, mobilization, security and intelligence readiness. Oversee multimillion dollar budget by recommending the priority and commitment of resources. Manage Command Force Protection, Physical Security, Anti-Terrorism and Vulnerability Assessment Programs. Identify and recommend training to ensure command readiness. Exercise supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. Effect minor disciplinary measures. Develop performance standards to evaluate work performance of subordinates.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, implementing, and appraising training plans and schedules; reviewing training plans and evaluating operational readiness of subordinate elements through inspections or review of reports; developing budget projections and/or recommending project funds; and delegating work, providing technical advice or guidance to subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementLeadershipOrganizational Performance Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
