This position is in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Production and Conservation, (FPAC), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Science and Technology Deputy Area, Conservation Engineering Division. The selectee is the primary writer-editor for NRCS regulatory rules, program funding announcements, congressional reports, and other documents, and the secondary writer editor for NRCS directives and technical papers.
Duties
Research and develop agency editorial and publishing policies and practices to include directives, technical papers, internal correspondence, and other documents.
Serve as the agency subject matter for regulations and policies relating to publications, publishing concepts and practices.
Responsible for publications that serve as the authoritative sources of company policies, procedures, and technical information.
Review and edit regulatory rules, program announcements, reports, and other documents.
Develop and implement editorial and publishing policies and practices for directions, technical papers, regulatory rules, program announcements, national correspondents, memos, reports, and other documents.
Use editorial and publishing expertise to analyze, interpret, and integrate information in a variety of formats to include graphs and tables, databases, and spreadsheets.
Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level,
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Researching and analyzing information on a variety of subjects concerning the established policies and programs of an organization;
Developing written products to clarify issues or to provide and explain technical information;
Utilizing desktop publishing technology to write or edit materials, develop graphic materials, and prepare layouts; and
Writing and editing strategically developed messages for various audiences.
