The selectee of this position serves as a Admiralty Specialist. You will be responsible for providing technical support, information, and financial management services for admiralty cases.
Duties
As a Admiralty Specialist at the GS-0301-9 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinating the legal and administrative aspects of vessel seizures and arrests.
Ensuring the proper execution of the court order and proper posting of all expenses incurred in the seizure.
Maintaining private seized property files.
Receiving, maintaining, monitoring, and recording a variety of civil case actions.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-0301-09 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade GS-07 in the Federal Service performing duties which include: 1) serving as the focal point for admiralty cases and private civil seizures; 2) coordinating the legal and administrative aspects of civil case actions; and 3) planning, organizing, and advising on the technical and legal issues involving vessel seizures.
OR
Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Criminal Justice, Sociology, Homeland Security, or a field of study that is directly related to the position that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
