The selectee of this position serves as a District Asset Forfeiture Coordinator responsible for for managing all asset forfeiture activities within the assigned district, including coordinating all phases of the asset forfeiture process. This position is located in the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the U.S. Marshals District of Alabama/ Montgomery, Alabama.

Duties

As a District Asset Forfeiture Coordinator at the GS-0301-12 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plans, coordinates, and oversees all asset forfeiture operations and activities with the assigned district office, including pre-seizure planning and custody, management, and disposition of seized/forfeited assets; Ensures the financial integrity of all asset forfeiture activities with the assigned district office; Plans and conducts ongoing evaluations of the effectiveness of the district's asset forfeiture program in meeting agency and district goals and objectives; Serves as the liaison with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Federal investigative agencies, state, and local government agencies, participating and non-participating forfeiture agencies, counterparts in other USMS districts, contractors, and vendors to exchange program information, address Asset Forfeiture Program (AFP) issues and concerns, and provide advice on AFP processes; AND Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) by assuring contractors meet the performance requirements of the contract in terms of quality, quantity, schedule and cost. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing technical advice and assistance to program managers on the management and disposition of seized assets; Supporting third-party audits to ensure overall audit compliance; Advising program managers on the status of all program activities complex or controversial technical matters; Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of operational methods and practices; AND Reviewing the work of contract personnel to ensure performance measures are met.
