This position will operate within the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) within Business Office Service at the VA Roseburg Health Care System (VARHCS). The incumbent(s) of the position will be assigned duties in the areas of Dispatching and/or Travel Coordination. The incumbent(s) will collaborate with the Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, tracking and program support responsibilities.
Duties
Major duties include but is not limited to:
Scheduling routes for assigned drivers.
Managing the Route Match program management software.
Coordinating vehicle maintenance with Engineering Service.
Coordinating travel/transportation arrangements as needed with local Emergency Management Services (EMS), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and other medical facilities.
Performs work involving consult management, appointment, scheduling and admissions scheduling.
Collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of VTS.
Evaluates documents such as sampling plans, permit applications, and other data collection forms.
Aggregates incoming data from a variety of sources.
Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner.
Processes internal consultations.
Reviews workload on a daily basis to validate accurate reporting.
Coordinates the day-to-day operation of VTS flow, processes, and functions.
Responds to "action required" notifications, insuring the primary providers are correct.
Plans and provides support services in the following types of program areas: electronic records management; driver scheduling setup & management of program; space utilization services.
Coordinates special mode of transportation using VTS assets to reduce facility costs.
Schedule, reviews, tracks requests for special mode of transportation via consults and requests directly received.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/10/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Assists and coordinates with team members, vendors, community partners and patients to assist with travel claims; Receive and respond to internal and external phone calls, emails, instant messages and paper mail in a timely manner; Posses ability to use varied functions of spreadsheets and database computer applications; Schedules appointments, collects, compiles and tracks data and statistical information; schedules routes for assigned drivers, manages the route management software, coordinating vehicle maintenance, coordinates travel/transportation arrangements as needed with local Emergency Management Services (EMS), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and other medical facilities.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude and collective reasoning to overcome. The incumbent is subject to a great deal of stress because of the high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever changing demands due to program changes.

Education
