About the Position: position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA and serves as a Management Support Assistant, providing technical and medical patient administrative services that include receiving, integrating, and tracking soldiers in transition who are assigned or attached to the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU).
Duties
Provide medical support duties to include appointment coordination, template creation, and notifications to commander, soldiers, family members, community agency representatives, and post personnel regarding evaluation and intervention.
Manages active files, inactive files, and records reflecting status of all suspense actions.
Collaborates with Patient Administration Department Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) with Line of Duty investigations (LODI) as needed for incoming soldiers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience performing administrative support; maintaining patient's files; AND answer customer inquiries about medical services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Public Health, Business Administration, Medical. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
