Duties

Development of new supply and maintenance concepts for new items and logistical support to CONUS, overseas commands, and foreign countries. Formulate broad policies and objectives for execution of supply, maintenance, and training programs by supporting installations in support of research, development, procurement, and production and fielding activities of the PdM Office. Make decisions and recommendations concerning all but the most highly controversial issues involving top policy matters requiring joint concurrence or approval of other functional areas. Provide weapon system product support subject matter expertise to the Program Manager for the execution of the Program Managers duties as the Total Life-Cycle Systems Manager. Provides direction and implementing policy for progressive personnel management of subordinate staff.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 30% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics - Advanced certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position. This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience your resume must describe, at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) level in the Federal Service that includes: 1) Managing development of new supply and maintenance concepts for new items and logistics support to CONUS and overseas command; (2) Applying concepts and theories of logistics management to evaluate policies and proposals involving the assumption of major new logistics support missions and programs; (3) Implementing comprehensive product support strategy throughout the life cycle for the materiel system(s); (4) Interpreting technical policy, procedures and regulations to ensure adherence to schedules and priorities; (5) Analyzing the impact of current activities on current and projected resources, to recommend feasible alternatives, to determine milestone events; (6) Developing product support strategies and life cycle sustainment plans in accordance with Army acquisition policies and procedures; and (7) Briefing leadership or key officials on program status and evaluate policies and proposals involving the assumption of new logistics support missions or programs. The definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or (GS-13) equivalent. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition StrategyLeadershipPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving All Current Federal Employees MUST attach a current SF-50 for consideration.
