These positions are located in the New Mexico State Office based out of Albuquerque, NM. These positions are indefinite, Excepted Service appointments that may continue if eligibility requirements are met under the Pathways Internship program and funding is available. Duties

Perform cadastral survey technician duties. Maintain documents and logs related to survey work. Measure and record distances for corner moves and ties to accessories. Select and mark bearing trees and bearing objectives. Use dies to mark monuments, dig holes, and build mounds for corner monumentation. Assist in the monumentation and recording of corner positions of surveys following previously selected methods of monumentation. Oversee the setting of posts, construction of accessories, and marking of reference points. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Eligibility AND Education requirements described below. You must provide documentation to support your eligibility and education to include a school letter of acceptance and a copy of your transcripts. Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be a student (16 years of age or older) currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a Pathway's Internship Eligibility: degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying accredited educational institution (i.e high school, technical or vocational school, college, university, graduate or professional school) on a full- or half-time basis (Note: You must provide documentation of your current enrollment course load). **AND** Education Requirement for GS-04: Successful completion of at least two full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. (Note: You must provide copies of your unofficial/official transcripts). Applicants must meet all eligibility and education requirements by the closing date of this announcement-10/09/2023

Education

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

You will NOT be considered under Pathways unless you provide supporting information from your school. Documentation may be provided in letter format from your academic advisor, school counselor, admission office, etc. to prove enrollment. Letters must be on school letterhead.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
