You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), STARS OSF Lead Specialist in the Area Control Systems Branch in the Air Traffic Control & Landing Systems (ATC&LS) Division (TW16000) of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Webster Outlying Field (WOLF). of NAWCAD WEBSTER OUTLYING FIELD.

Duties

You will be responsible for STARS OSF technical subject matter expertise of STARS OSF Shore Based Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems. You will reduce sustainment cost of national air space infrastructure by providing technical expertise and DoD Special Use Airspace de-confliction to the National Airspace Improvement Team. You will collaborate with Navy, DOD, and FAA stakeholders to develop road-maps that ensure national policy alignment and an efficient high quality future system deployment schedule for national air management systems. You will reduce adaptation production times and coordinate between over 100 multi-department sites to execute the required STARS adaptation to meet or exceed expected deliveries.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DS-5) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing engineering analysis, acquisition, systems integration, and project management to support the design, development, integration, installation and modernization of shipboard, airborne, and shore based platforms (i.e., Tactical Systems), and related electronic systems and equipment; 2) Providing expert technical direction and team leadership of engineers, technicians, IT professionals, and business support; 3) Working collaboratively with sponsors and other program management authorities to develop solutions for war fighting requirements; 4) Managing priorities and developing tactical resource plans to facilitate project execution; 5) Providing full range of combined technical and administrative direction to subordinates and other professionals; 6) Developing subordinates (i.e., providing opportunities to develop technical and program management experience) through internal and external rotations.
