About the Position: Serves as a Facility Services Assistant, for the US Army Corps of Engineer, Detroit District. Work location is at the Detroit Project Office at Historic Fort Wayne. Provide assistance with all facility and equipment maintenance work order request, follow workflow procedures, use and maintain computerized maintenance systems, review and process purchase request. Position will be filled at either grade.

Duties

Serves as technical advisor for administering the maintenance work order system to control the activities of maintenance crews and ensuring budget funds are available. Utilizes enterprise databases, such as Facilities and Equipment Maintenance (FEM) program, or IBM Maximo Asset Management, or other similar computerized equipment and facilities maintenance software. Responsible for integrating and implementing the asset management process utilizing enterprise software systems. Analyzes equipment manuals and contractor recommendations and conducts discussions with maintenance personnel to verify or correct data. Exercises independent initiative and judgment in developing, coding and updating a status profile, history, supporting technical library, and related maintenance procedures. Processes purchase requests from employees, contacts vendors with orders, assuring that the price quotes are honored, inputs, process payments and receives orders. Utilizes enterprise databases, to prepare or assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance and operational program reports for various District elements.

Requirements

Specialized Experience GS07: Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing and processing work flows in computerized management systems; understand administrative workflow procedures; experience using computerized management software; understanding warehouse/logistics management operations and programs; assist staff with purchase requests. Specialized Experience GS08: Specialized experience is defined as experience managing and validating work orders; clarify administrative work order preventive maintenance workflow procedures; experience using computerized maintenance management software; using one or more warehouse/logistics management operations programs; input purchase requests for small purchases. Specialized Experience GS09: Specialized experience defined as experience assisting supervisor in identifying maintenance requirements and administrative requirements; assist in the preparation of work orders and preventive maintenance work orders, and corrective maintenance work orders for maintenance and repairs in a computerized management software; experience administrating of maintenance management systems in a computerize.
