About the Position: This position reports directly to the Health System Specialist within the Quality Department Division at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, New York.

Duties

Conduct prime source verification on the following credentials as relevant to the HCP or the clinical support staff member: licensure, certification, educational degrees to include medical residency training and fellowships and prior employments. Screen individual healthcare provider files in accordance with Department of Defense regulations and directives. Verify that all designated HCPs receive and maintain a valid, current license in accordance with governing regulations. Develop agenda and minutes for the Credential Committee. Process notification of privileges according to the recommendations of the Credentials Committee to the Medical Staff Executive Committee and approval/disapproval by the Commander IAW AR 40-68. Interpret regulations, directives and policies relevant to the privileging and reappointment process, format and content of Practitioner Credentials and Provider Activity files.

OR GS 06-Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business, healthcare administration, or related fields. OR GS 06-Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS 07-Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated data processing system to accomplish a wide range of statistical and/or data entry; researching records and/or actions to ensure applicants and/or customers are in compliance with current guidelines; and performing administrative and/or clerical duties for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR GS 07-Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Healthcare Administration, or related fields. OR GS 07-Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Planning and EvaluatingResearch and Data Analysis Time in Grade Requirement for GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Education
