About the Position: This is a Maintenance Management Specialist, GS-1601-11/12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, Operations Division located in Fort Worth, TX.
This position may be filled at the GS-11 level with promotion potential to the full performance GS-12 or at the full performance GS-12 level.
Duties
Supports and facilitates the Asset Management Program by contributing to the overall support of the USACE National Asset Management Program.
Evaluates Operating Project maintenance data and utilize information to provide a measure of the performance and efficiency of the Project’s maintenance management and business processes, recommending improvements in processes as necessary.
As Maintenance Management Specialist, utilizes the Facility Equipment Maintenance (FEM) program and other specialized software to analyze and evaluate project maintenance data for quality, completeness and extent of utilization.
As the primary District authority on FEM, incumbent is responsible for ensuring standardization and consistency of FEM processes and business practices across the Operating Projects, as required or directed by the HQUSACE Asset Management Program.
The incumbent provides support to Operating Project FEM Technicians and other FEM users reporting issues or problems with the system.
The incumbent is the Fort Worth District FEM Administrator, subject matter expert, and primary point-of-contact for FEM-related matters.
Makes recommendations to Operating Project Managers and their staff on ways to improve maintenance processes and procedures that may help resolve problems, increase efficiency, and meet established maintenance management goals.
Schedules and executes special condition assessments at projects following significant events throughout the district that could affect facility condition and readiness.

To qualify for the GS-11:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) gathering operations data using an automated facility equipment maintenance program; AND 2) assisting others to resolve user errors or report technical issues related to an automated facility equipment maintenance program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
To qualify for the GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) analyzing operations data using an automated facility equipment maintenance program to evaluate performance and identify areas needing improvement; AND 2) communicating results of maintenance program data evaluations with appropriate management officials/staff members to improve maintenance management procedures and business practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
