This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), at the Gerald R. Ford Library. This Library collects, preserves, and grants public access to archival materials on U.S. domestic issues, foreign relations, and political affairs during the Cold War era, focusing on the Ford administration. It also offers a wide variety of special events, speakers, book signings, forums, workshops, films, and other programs, as well as several small temporary exhibits each year.
Duties
As a Special Events Coordinator, you will:
Coordinate services for special events at the Library.
Assist in planning and preparing conferences, meetings and special events for the Library.
In cooperation with the Supervisory Archivist and Public Affairs Specialist, develop informational material and market the library's facilities and events to appropriate users.
Oversee room set-ups, audiovisual and laptop computer equipment setup, coffee preparation and clean up for special events and facility rentals.
Receive and respond to written and verbal requests from individuals and groups who wish to use the physical facilities of the Library for various types of events and programs.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Planning and preparing for conferences, meetings and/or special events; AND
Communicating both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders; AND
Managing frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-06level for 52 weeks.
