This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Field Support Operations, Materiel Fielding and Training Directorate.
Duties
Manages curriculum and training materials as training specialist responsible for overarching functions of NET development and management.
Manages training development as a system and training subject matter expert making recommendations on training methods, aids, hands-on exercises, classroom instructions and test/evaluation of students.
Responsible setting up a classroom or training area, coordinating tools that are needed to execute training, tracking student attendance and participation, and managing student records.
Provides overall maintenance of their assigned courses and determines the need for and initiates changes/updates in course content.
Perform or assist in de-processing, staging, inventory accountability and packaging that included operator and maintainer tasks needed to ensure system or equipment is operating and in 10/20 standard prior to handoff.
Performing equipment modifications, installation and assembly needed to prepare equipment.
Operates as a mission or site lead when identified as the senior or lead instructor for a given program or mission.
Performs with oversight from team lead and supervisor for input to performance and methods

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: train in a classroom or motor pool using a mix of training products and hands on training; or assisting in the development of detailed lesson plans and training aids on operation and maintenance procedures with military equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
