The Senior Technical Operations Watch Officer (STOWO) serves as the Vice President of Technical Operations Services representative for all National Airspace System (NAS) systems and services. Has operational decision making authority on behalf of the Vice President of Technical Operations Services. Incumbent directs FAA Operations in an effort to provide the safest and most efficient Air Traffic services at the national level on a daily basis and reports directly to the National Operations Grp.
Duties
Serves as the Technical Operations Watch Officer in the Joint Air Traffic Operations Command (JATO() at the Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC). Provides Technical Operations managerial oversight and operational direction to all facilities nationwide. He/she directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for more than one organizational unit/project/program within a major subdivision. Work usually includes a mixture of routine and complex projects/programs based on the objectives of the major subdivision/LOB/SO. Provides support to the JATOC ATO Watch Officer (AWO), and collaborates with all other JATOC team elements within the FAA ATCSCC Command Center to provide timely, clear and concise information needed for effective management of real-time events.
Requirements

- A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J / FG/GS-14. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is: Experience with the design, development, operations, maintenance performance and evaluation of the National Airspace System (NAS), this includes experience with the acquisition and development of NAS programs and systems; the operations and maintenance functions in field facilities; and the evaluation and performance functions in District Offices, regional offices or headquarters.Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Please ensure you answer all questions and follow all instructions carefully.
