You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (OA) in the Human Resources Office of COMPACFLT HRO SOUTHWEST at one of the locations listed.
Duties
You will perform clerical support and functions (e.g., typing, filing, data entry) for the human resources office.
You will review personnel actions for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, complete missing information and follow up on suspense actions.
You will input and retrieve data into and/or from an automated database or human resources information system.
You will determine necessary documents needed to support the transaction and ensure that all documentation required is present, complete and arranged in proper sequence.
You will explain the recruitment process to supervisors, employees and/or potential candidates.
You will provide information regarding the Priority Placement Program (PPP) requirements and potential impact on recruitment.
You will provide supervisors and selectees with information on in-processing/on-boarding procedure and requirements.
You will respond to questions regarding completion of the various employment forms requiring completion before selectees can be entered on duty.
You will coordinate with other Human Resources offices to negotiate release dates and pick-up dates.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to lift and/or carry items weighing less than 50 pounds, work also requires some walking, standing and bending.
Qualifications
For GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with performing clerical or technical tasks in support of human resources rules, regulations or procedures (i.e., conducting new employee orientation briefings and answering employment questions; accomplishing pre-employment/in-processing to include making job offers, reviewing employment eligibility forms, and scheduling physical/security appointments; maintaining a tracking system for a variety of staffing/classification actions; and providing guidance on the use of automated HR processing systems).
For GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with performing clerical or technical tasks in support of human resources rules, regulations or procedures. (i.e., assisting with new employee orientation briefings, assisting with employment/in-processing, reviewing employment eligibility forms or scheduling physical/security appointments, or maintaining a tracking system for staffing/classification actions, or providing guidance on the use of automated HR processing systems).
