In this position as a Facility Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations of the water treatment and distribution system and wastewater treatment facility.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
GS-11: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (in the Federal sector).
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Inspecting plant machinery, equipment, grounds and facilities to determine the need for repair; Inspecting wastewater treatment plants; using proper sampling techniques for domestic wastewater, domestic potable water, and performing physical, chemical and biological analyses; utilizing a SCADA system to operate and maintain equipment and instruments.
OR: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., with major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management or business administration
OR:
A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in or related to the work of this position AND education graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position and experience.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
