Duties

This position is located in the immediate Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). The purpose of this position is to provide for the daily monitoring and execution of the Inspector General’s statutory duties to keep the Congress informed of oversight activities performed in accordance with the Inspector General Act and other applicable laws.  This includes submission of legally required reports, advocacy for budget requests, tracking and analysis of legislation, and responding for inquiries and correspondence from Committees and Members of Congress and their staffs. Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following specific duties:

• US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
• Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
• Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959

Qualifications

The GS-14 salary range starts at $132,368 per year. The GS-15 salary range starts at $155,700 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  Requirements for Qualification at the GS-14 level:To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience providing expert guidance and assistance on policies and programs of a legislative and/or congressional nature; communicating with Members of Congress and government officials; researching, developing and drafting issue papers and similar correspondence; assisting in the development of communications that inform and educate Congress and staff members on legislative affairs, legislation, and/or Executive Orders.Requirements for Qualification at the GS-15 level:To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is planning, designing, and directing an effective national congressional program including overseeing and providing related activities and services; managing and overseeing critical internal and external congressional communications, legislation and Executive Orders; and developing and implementing strategic congressional communication plans.
