This position is located at Departmental Offices, Domestic Finance-Financial Institutions. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will handle the development of policy proposals, research and analysis of current law, regulatory proposals, and understanding the current state of the consumer policy issues. Duties

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will: - Conduct research and analysis of current law and legislative proposals involving highly complex financial, legal and regulatory issues, and plan and prepare reports that include recommendations and conclusions on which Treasury policy may be developed. - Develop and lead initiatives within an assigned portfolio, including driving policy priorities through the approval and clearance processes and implementing Office priorities. - Prepare written materials, including briefings and memoranda for use by senior Treasury officials, including for the purpose of meetings, speeches, interviews, and testimony. - Monitor developments in consumer policy, and related legislative, regulatory and policy developments. - Collaborate with other Federal or State agencies and/or outside parties in connection with the development and implementation of policy proposals.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience developing or analyzing consumer financial services policies, programs, or products. AND Experience developing or analyzing legislative or regulatory proposals affecting financial services companies. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
