The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Executive Specialist, in the Command Section of an Air Force
Reserve Wing. The position is responsible for administering and directing the wing's executive support functions and
insuring that day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the Wing Commander/Senior ART.
Duties
Serves as the executive advisor on programs and initiatives within the wing.
Performs a variety of staff duties relating to the management of the wing.
Plans/conducts staff meetings as directed. Obtains necessary background information, materials, and data to insure complete coverage of issues.
Manages wing resources for executive support, services and activities.
Responsible for wing staff agency inspection compliance.
Performs various administrative duties/special projects and monitors status to assure effectiveness.

- Must meet and maintain all applicable AF civilian requirements.
- Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully support wing staff functions.
- Work schedule may be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in Unit Training Assemblies (UTA).
- May be required to travel by regularly scheduled commercial passenger aircraft or military aircraft in the
performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of organization, programs, missions and functions of the Air Force Reserve Wing; familiarity with various operating programs and an understanding of a comprehensive range of staff concepts, policies, and management techniques pertaining to military command and assignments; knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies required to successfully plan, schedule, and conduct projects and studies to promote efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization; and a variety of principles and processes
applicable to the work operations of a military wing or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of analytical, evaluative, planning and investigative processes, techniques and methods as applied to
issues or studies involving administrative or support functions.
3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and precedents applicable to wing programs and related support
resources or equivalent.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to plan, organize work, and manage multiple taskings.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
