You will serve as a Security Guard in the Security Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will check credentials of personnel or vehicles to control access to base posts, buildings, private property, or restricted areas. You will assist personnel during an emergency situation (e.g., accidents, drills, fire, natural disasters, motor vehicle or industrial accidents, political demonstrations, hostage or terrorist situations) to protect the safety of life and property. You will follow chain of custody rules to catalog and secure seized property.

Requirements

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1) Control access through ECP in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, and/ or policy with proper employee and visitors identification, badges, credentials and vehicle passes. 2) Monitor situations for public safety and health and reporting violations to proper authorities. 3) Answer/ Direct incoming calls, and assist callers to locate command personnel, ensuring all information released is within the Privacy Act of 1974. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1)Control access through ECP in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, and/ or policy with proper employee and visitors identification, badges, credentials and vehicle passes. 2) Monitor situations for public safety and health and reporting violations to proper authorities. 3) Answer/ Direct incoming calls, and assist callers to locate command personnel, ensuring all information released is within the Privacy Act of 1974. 4) Recognizes and issues parking violation tickets, requiring traffic court appearances for verification of violation and testimonial purposes. 5) Provide input on workplaces, processes, products, or other systems to control or eliminate hazards.
