Duties

In this position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals serving as a Supervisory Program Manager for Border Patrol and Air and Marine Program Management Office's Financial Management Section, where both the scope and effect of the work have a CBP-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $116,393.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $151,308.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $151,308.00 (GS-14 Step 10). Typical work assignments include: Providing leadership for and overseeing the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of programs for the Financial Management Section; Providing administrative direction in project management, team building, facilitation, process improvement analysis, and the methodology required to develop and substantiate a business case for the selected project; Developing detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates, and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs throughout program/project lifecycle; Working with senior leadership as a change agent in assuring, directing, and performing the steps necessary to create business cases within established budgets and timeframes; and Identifying and resolving, as applicable, unique issues where no policy exists, taking innovative actions to address new needs and/or issues.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Utilizing financial management principles to request/justify, properly execute, and report/analyze program funding, with the flexibility to adapt and respond to new information, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles timely; Managing programs and determining the goals and objectives of those programs; Overseeing the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of a program or several program segments; and Utilizing various analytical tools to identify areas of improvement within the program of responsibility. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/27/2023.
