This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, SINGLE NOTE INSPECTION SECTION WCF. As a CURRENCY PROCESSING ASSISTANT, you will be a member of a team of Currency Processing Assistants. Receives, processes, stores, and destroys U.S. currency. Maintains and processes large volumes of currency in a highly controlled, regulated, and secure team environment using high speed processing equipment. Works effectively under the workflow direction of a Currency Processing Supervisor.
Duties
As a CURRENCY PROCESSING ASSISTANT, you will:
- Prepare and process currency on a computerized state-of-the-art high- speed banknote processing machines, i.e. BPS 2000 OBIS. Operate machine in a single and/or multifaceted multiple machine room environment. Currency is fed into the high-speed processing machine and the machine inspects each note, validates its denomination, test for fitness and automatically bundles notes into packages. Defective notes, incorrect denominations, and non-machine-readable notes are rejected, and shredded. Demonstrate processing data accuracy and adherence to procedures in the use of all automated systems to include daily requirements and balance requirements.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience: For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position is defined as:
- Experience adhering to procedures in the use of automated systems AND
- Experience with various automated software functions such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. AND
- Experience using arithmetic when counting and sorting products AND
- Experience processing data accurately.
