Duties
This position starts at a salary of $112,015.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $145,617.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $145,617 (GS-13 Step 10).

As an Executive Assistant, you will perform a variety of special assignments including assignments of a confidential and sensitive nature involving complex and urgent problems and special projects spanning multiple operating areas under the jurisdiction of the senior executive. Typical work assignments may include:
Serving as the personal representative of the Executive Director (XD) in personal and telephonic contacts with high-ranking officials of this and other departments and agencies, executives of state and local governments, as well as executives from private industry.
Arranging appointments, determining which take precedence, deciding when an appointment may be interrupted, cancelled, rescheduled, etc, as necessary, without prior approval.
Making arrangements for conferences and meetings for the XD. Preparing the agenda and notifying officials who are to attend, of the time, place and meeting agenda.
Maintaining records and files and coordinating meetings and communication for the XD.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Utilizing administrative and business-related programs and operations in the Federal government and assessing such programs and operations.
Applying management concepts and practices to improve their effectiveness and utility to the division's accomplishment of its mission regarding policies and requirements relative to organizational structure.
Arranging appointments and determining which takes precedence without prior approval.

Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/27/2023.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
