The incumbent will have significant responsibility with tracking and trending performance measures, strategic initiatives, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics associated with the delivery of care to inpatients/outpatients within the assigned subspecialties of Nursing Service.

Duties

Duties for this position include but are not limited to: Manages delinquent encounters and assisting staff in rectifying delinquent documentation Monthly Decision Support Systems (DSS) Labor Mapping and Human Resources (HR) staffing lists Assists with gathering pertinent information and data to support proficiency assessments Monitor new employee orientation program, including following up on completion of orientation Develops knowledge in Lean Concepts and assists Nurse Managers and Associate Chief Nurse with development of project workflow charts and graphs, and internal mechanisms for trending and reporting data, workflow efficiency, and program development Aids in processing of personnel management activities for respective Nurse Managers and Associate Chief Nurse Manages workflow, documentation, database, and personnel actions based on the Nurse Professional Standards Board Has knowledge of the records management process and supports the records management program. Maintains files and records in accordance with federal records management regulations within the ADPC Service Maintains tracking and entry of changes in personnel competency folders and ensures that folders remain current Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/29/2023. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: Providing courteous customer service; Receiving and directing service requests; Utilize various computer database systems; Familiarity with functions of office automation software to input and retrieve data; Clerical and administrative support experience; Receiving and referring phone calls; Understanding of rules, regulations and policies/procedures of the Health Care Center. (Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week). OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-05 level. Applicant must have successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (Transcripts must be submitted at time of application) OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond high school. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Computer SkillsInformation ManagementIntegrity/HonestyOrganizational Awareness Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers/ books and, occasionally, heavier items. The work also requires spending significant time performing computer-based duties, placing greater demand on fine motor skills. The position may be stressful due to the scope of the position and complexity of the clinical service.
