Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Office of the Deputy Director, Renewable Energy and Regulatory Compliance in Sterling, VA. At the full performance level (GS-11) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Reviews all travel authorizations, advance of funds and travel vouchers for all program personnel, preparing the same for the RERC Program Director and staff. Ensures division compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies that govern travel. 2. Prepares travel arrangements for the RERC Program Director and staff, preparing detailed itineraries for travelers; resolves associated issues/problems such as overcharges, tax-exempt status, and currency conversions. Maintains files on all required records. 3. Assists Renewable Energy staff and program managers with coordinating the delivery of various program support functions including budget management, administrative support, records management, property management, etc. to ensure continuity of operations. 4. Works closely with the RERC Program Director, Bureau, and Department management officials to keep abreast of relevant internal and external issues, pursue program goals, and coordinate accurate and timely submissions (including required reports) for the renewable energy program to Bureau management throughout the Department. 5. Prepares, receives, coordinates, and resolves questions, issues, complaints, and/or requests from various regional or headquarters personnel on policy and procedural issues applicable to the renewable energy program, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-9: $64,957 - $84,441 (per annum) GS-11: $78,592 - $102,166 (per annum) First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. This vacancy is also announced as BSEE-EEAA-23-CM-217(DEU) for those applicants who wish to apply and be considered under Competitive Examining procedures.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience and/or Educational Requirement for the series/grade to which you are applying. GS-9: To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level you must meet the (A) Specialized Experience OR (B) Educational Requirement OR (C) Combination of Education and Experience. NOTE: Applicants qualifying based in whole or part on education are required to provide transcripts (unofficial) as proof of meeting the requirements. Failure to provide the documents will result in you receiving an INELIGIBLE rating. A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Assisting with drafting of correspondence, memoranda, and/or documents for review; 2) Performing database management to include editing, updating, and tracking of deadlines; and 3) Analyzing data to develop recommendations. MUST MEET ALL. -OR- B. Educational Requirement:Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. -OR- C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of specialized experience and educationin excess of the first full year of graduate level education that totals 100% of the requirement. GS-11: To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level you must meet the (A) Specialized Experience OR (B) Educational Requirement OR (C) Combination of Education and Experience. NOTE: Applicants qualifying based in whole or part on education are required to provide transcripts (unofficial) as proof of meeting the requirements. Failure to provide the documents will result in you receiving an INELIGIBLE rating. A. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Drafting correspondence, memoranda, and/or documents; 2) Performing database management to include editing, updating, and communication of upcoming of deadlines; 3) Analyzing data to develop and provide recommendations to senior leaders; and 4) Preparing travel documents, vouchers, and authorizations in accordance with travel guidelines. MUST MEET ALL. -OR- B. Educational Requirement:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. -OR- C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of specialized experience and educationin excess of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education that totals 100% of the requirement.
