This position is part of the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the programmatic and administrative activities of the Chairperson and the Board as a whole.
Duties
Conducts administrative duties to include proofreading and editing written work products with reviewers' comments on spelling, grammar, formatting, and conformance to office and agency policies and procedures; managing mail distribution, and analyzing, developing, and implementing office-wide administrative procedures and policies.
Conducts briefings with senior management to provide status updates.
Serve as liaison to Board Members, with the responsibility of maintaining electronic and/or paper records of agency work products created during their terms. Work with Board Members in designing, implementing, and maintaining a filing system consistent with established records, schedules, and file plans. Establishes and implements agency procedures and support for electronic file maintenance.
Review and analyzes incoming correspondence to assess the level of urgency and route to the appropriate internal recipient. Maintain administrative system to track incoming and outgoing Board correspondence and invitations, as well as any actions required to respond to correspondence. As requested, provide additional direct administrative support to the Chairperson and the Board as a whole. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.

At the GS-12level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position is experience 1) Providing administrative services to senior executive officials of an agency/organization; 2) Preparing travel plans to include planning agendas, making flight and hotel reservations, and preparing travel vouchers; 3) Assisting with the coordination of executive level meetings/conferences; and 4) Developing internal operating procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency with administrative and office procedures. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
