About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Receive and review travel orders to determine authority and entitlements identified for the directed travel. Monitor and verify by analyzing current guides to determine and ensure that travel is by the most economical mode, route, and fare that will meet mission requirements, all tickets issued for temporary duty and permanent change of station travel. Perform travel arrangements duties. Verify and ensure all itineraries, travel orders, credits, advance credits and previously applied credits are accurate and applied to the proper accounting classification. Finalize post audit reviews of airline and other carrier bills for accuracy in terms of amount, rates applied, number of tickets issued, total passengers moved, and savings realized.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle and successfully pass an Army approved defensive driving certification course. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) determining and counseling individuals on eligibility and entitlements for directed official travel; 2) making commercial reservations for travel; and 3) applying travel regulations and federal travel directory or guides to determine mode, carrier, routing or fares for economical travel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- [06]).
