You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SPECIAL SECURITY OFFICE (SSO) of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND.
Duties
You will provide information and assistance to management/organizational officials/employees on personnel security policies and procedures for reviewing adverse personnel security determinations and employee reconsideration or appeal rights.
You will provide day-to-day supervision and technical oversight of the assigned personnel security specialists within the division.
You will manage the employee Personnel Security clearance eligibility appeal process in coordination with associated Central Adjudication Facilities (CAFs).
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must possess and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance and must obtain and maintain NSA badging for NIPR/SIPR/NSANet accounts.
- A Counterintelligence Polygraph is required, and a non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Failure to retain this level of security clearance and access will be grounds for reassignment, demotion, or removal from the Federal Service
- Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
- The incumbent may be required to perform occasional travel (25% or less) which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is not telework eligible.
- Work is generally of a difficult nature and requires superior acuteness and discernment to determine the breath and intensity of effort involved in several phases concurrently with other activities both within and outside MARFORCYBER.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Coordinating, implementing, and administering overall personnel security policies and procedures relating to the continuous evaluation of all employees requiring security clearance eligibility; Assigning work to subordinates based on priority and difficulty.
