About the Position: Serves as a Crisis Officer in the V Corps Current Operations Integration Center (COIC), Headquarters (HQ), V Corps.
Duties
Monitor worldwide current events and initiates responses as appropriate
Provide a single point of contact, on a 24-hour basis, with the higher headquarters and Mission Support Commands for all matters pertaining to current operations.
Monitor all ongoing and planned operations involving V Corps assigned forces.
Brief senior leaders of current operations.
Conducts immediate actions to stand-up the Crisis Action Team (CAT) or Crisis Response Cell (CRC).
Conduct staff coordination and execute established V Corps mission requirements and procedures for Crisis Action notification.
Monitor and evaluate all message traffic received from stakeholders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 5 (CS/TS-SSBI) background investigation and this position is covered by the Drug-Free Workplace Program as a testing designated position.
- This position is designated Mission Essential.
- The incumbent must be able to remain on duty or make every effort to report to duty on-time during emergency and/or crisis situations.
- Must be able to work extended and/or other than normal duty hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to the extent determined by the supervisor.
- Must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months, but no more than 30 months.
- Must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
- Must be able to perform business related travel up to 60% of the time.
- Must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
- Must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.
- IAW DoD Policy, must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee Special Issuance Passport (SIP) and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government drivers license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP) vehicles such as a sedan or small passenger van.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: I have one year experience equivalent to the GS09 grade level in the Federal service including: monitor worldwide current events and initiate action as appropriate; receive, review and analyze plans, policies and regulations; prepare and analyze operational reports; and prepare technical and routine correspondence.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 2 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a TERM appointment not to exceed 2 years if candidate is not a current permanent. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
