Duties

In this position you will serve as a Supervisory Curriculum Developer. Typical duties include: Providing direct advisory services to senior level management officials and other bureau personnel in the areas of organizational management and for enhancing employee potential and development of leadership and management through training. Communicating and working with training coordinators or others from within or outside the organization on training programs and curriculum management. Developing, modifying, conducting and/or overseeing the presentation of training in the areas of employee development and leadership/management development programs. Advising on curriculum development strategies and knowledge management principles, training program policies, regulatory requirements and procedures. Analyzing training needs by coordinating with senior level management officials throughout the Bureau. Plans studies to identify immediate and long-range training needs.

  • Supervisory Probationary Period: If you are selected for this position, you will be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period if one has not previously been completed.
  • This position requires regular and recurring overtime and shift work.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 if you possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Developing training concepts, policies, and/or practices to meet industry standards; Working with organizational personnel to provide administrative or resource management guidance; and Leading a team or work unit in daily activities to support training or curriculum development. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification AND time-in-grade claims will be subject to verification. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
