About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.

Duties

Perform a variety of warehousing duties that include receiving, processing, storing, and issuing. Check physical characteristics of items against stock catalog nomenclature. Resolve discrepancies by checking stock status information in issue request, receiving and shipping reports, and system operations. Determine appropriate hold locations for assembling and shipping items. Follow general safety practices in operating equipment and performs operator's maintenance on equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may be required to work Army Power Projection Platform (AP3) Operations utilizing a skill that is classified no higher than the current grade. Work may involve shift work, weekends, or holidays.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain, for the duration of employment in this position, a valid Government Driver's License.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain, for the duration of employment in this position, a valid Forklift Operator's License.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below.
