About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Provide guidance and assistance in all areas of Medical Protection System (MEDPROS), such as the input of immunizations and IMR data, distribution of training aids, monitoring of schedule compliance, and all MEDPROS education and training endeavors. Assist in the implementation of regulations, directives and instructions that apply to MEDPROS for the medical treatment facility. Maintain and present MEDPROS Unit Status Report. Plan, develop, direct, coordinate and participate in other workshops and training sessions focusing on readiness reporting and unit readiness issues. Perform analysis of readiness data to make recommendations and projections. Provide staff assistance visits training for installation to ensure the understanding of medical readiness requirements and compliance of these requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position may require the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifications for Medical Protection System (MEDPROS) Training Coordinator GS-0301-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience maintaining, monitoring and developing medical health system programs to track immunizations and medical readiness for deployment, and coordinating workshops and training sessions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: computer hardware, software programming, or health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
