About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Logistics Directorate, U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL, J4.
Duties
Manages Transportation support for Counter Drug/Counter Narcotics Trafficking (CD/CNT) operations, involving DoD organizations, partner nations, law enforcement, intelligence agencies to include intra-and-theater airlift of personnel etc.
Prepare studies and/or- guidance and develop policy on potential logistics shortfalls in strategic and operational developments to present and develop strategies to support complex interagency operational mission requirements.
Analyze and supply, and transportation data from a variety of logistics automated Information Systems (Ais) which include: Single Mobility System (SMS), Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Joint Air Logistics Information System and other sources.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. (ENTNAC/NAC/NACI/BI required.)
- Travel will be required (CONUS/OCONUS) less than 25% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience to the next lower grade (GG/GS-12) level in the Federal Service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience with logistics plans managing transportation airlift (e.g., Air Force Reserve (AFR), Marine Air Wings (active/reserve), Operational Support Airlift Agency (OSAA), Joint Operational Support Airlift Center (JOSA), etc.,) to support the Counterdrug/Counter Narcotics (CD/CNT)) operations.
